(online event) Exploring CreativeTools for Cultural Heritage

As culmination of our common project C4Education, the consortium consisting of University of Jena, Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision, Time Machine Organisation and ICARUS will be hosting an online event to present the results of our project, launched as Heritage Innovation Lab. This virtual event will promote the discussion on integrating innovative creative tools into the cultural heritage field and will offer insights and support opportunities for project proposals with the latest advancements in technology.

The event will be held online on Monday, 10 June from 14:00-16:00 CEST. Be most welcome to register now!

10th Digitale Bibliothek: "Back (and) to the future"

The Digitale Bibliothek ("Digital Library") conferences at the University of Graz, Austria, are a joint platform for the exchange of experience on new developments in the field of knowledge presentation and preservation in libraries, museums, archives and research institutions.

It's 10th edition will welcome speakers and participants from previous conferences to, first of all, celebrate; but also share their experiences interacting with the conferences themes

The main topics of the conference will be:

  • Technology: Established and cutting edge (e.g. AI, machine learning, ...)
  • Networks: Cooperations, partnerships, working together nowadays
  • Sustainability: How do we preserve knowledge? What happens to knowledge/know-how that is not digitally available? Can knowledge be "secured",is it verifiable? New ways of knowledge transfer? New ways for GLAM institutions? Choosing which knowledge to preserve and process?

The conference will take place at Graz University on 28-29 November 2024. The submission deadline is 31 May 2024.

4th DARIAH-HR International Conference "Digital Humanities and Heritage"

The 4th issue of the international conference “Digital Humanities and Heritage” of the Croatian branch of DARIAH will be held in Split, Croatia, from 9-11 October 2024. Under the header of “Legacy and Innovation” the event aims to look back on 10 years of existence of DARIAH-EU, providing an opportunity for reflection and discussion, while at the same time looking ahead on current trends, challenges, and opportunities within the field of digital humanities and heritage.

The conference committee invites you to submit abstracts for proposals (max. 500 words) along with a concise biographical note (maximum 200 words) and a photo, to dhh@dariah.hr by 25 June 2024.

Registration for our Convention in Novi Sad (5-7 June) is open until Thursday, 30 May 2024, so make sure to get your name down in our participation list!

New website for the common European data space for cultural heritage

Europeana Foundation recently published a new webpage for the common European data space for cultural heritage. It offers an attractive overview of the activities taking place across the data space - numbers and figures, partners and organisations behind it, projects which support it and its principal products, developed by the Europeana Initiative. As the data space grows and evolves, the dedicated webpage will continue to be enriched - so stay tuned for fresh updates!
